Sure, 'No Name Face' has the moving work of "Everything," but 'Stanley Climbfall' has the consistency and the driving "Take Me Away." I still am however confused about the title. It's still one of the most consistent records I've ever heard." Well, that pretty much sums it up. It's highly controversial, especially since this album has been largely forgotten, but it is a true masterpiece in the genre of modern rock. After the unprecedented success of "Hanging By A Moment," Lifehouse took the genre they inevitably bore and ran with it. 'Stanley Climbfall.' What does that even mean. Taking a heavy-dose from the grunge genre, Lifehouse all but nixes any acoustic or poppy elements from their sound, as it all takes a very raw, rough, but rockin' turn instead. The result is a follow-up forever foreshadowed by the success of its predecessor, but arguably tops it. I personally love every moment of it, as it's on the edge, and it's almost one long consistent jam session that the band really ran and had fun with.Standout tracks include "Spin," "Sky Is Falling," "Stanley Climbfall," and the highlight/album-definer "Take Me Away."Overall, on a recent list I made of the top 15 albums in Christian music, I placed this particular work at #9, saying "If 'No Name Face' bore modern rock as we know it, then "Stanley Climbfall" perfected it.
If any song sounds "hard" it would be this one5. Take Me Away-this one was by far the best one for the radio. Spin-Very good song, only thing I don't like is the ending but for some fans they may actually enjoy it. 4.
If anything, the real disappointments are their self titled album "Lifehouse" and "Who We Are" which both lack the emotion, arrangements, and the almost spiritual feeling you get from "No Name Face" and "Stanley Climbfall" It has a different feeling from the other songs. If you liked the feel you get from songs like "Stanley Climbfall" then you'll like this one for sure.14. But with that said this album did what it was supposed to do and it was to show maturity and a different sound.1. nothing more to be said.
It does what "Anchor" was supposed to do in terms of having the "rock" sound of the guitar along with that moving feeling of "Stanley Climbfall". It does what the album needed to do which was to show maturity and give a different sound rather than do the same thing as the No Name Face. Just Another Breath-If you liked "Am I Ever Gonna Find Out" you're gonna like this one too. Anchor-While I particularly don't like like it or couldn't get into it, it at least gives the album a song for those who are looking for a song that utilizes that "Rock" sound from an electric guitar. One of the happier songs on the album and more upbeat as well. 2. Sadly even the very band thought that this album was a bad move. Also one of those upbeat songs.9.
Am I Ever Gonna Find Out-Seems to be missing an intro, sort of just jumps into the song but it's actually very good considering what the song before it does to you. 10. Sky Is Falling-Very nice song. Contrary to some of their fans and even the band itself this album was actually very good. Had this song been released 1st and a good video with it the album would've done better. Empty Space-a surprisingly more sort of happy song. Wash-Not one of my favorites but something that is still listenable. The Beginning-ironically this is put at the end but it is one of those songs that you can just imagine people uniting together and sort of just creating peace.
The way it starts it's so calm and sort of just takes you into another world, definitely one of those songs that just moves you inside7. The only problem was the lack of radio friendly songs or anything like Hanging By A Moment. If you have the special edition of this album theres two more tracks13. They should've released this song instead as a single, it might've done better than "Spin" radiowise.8. while not a favorite of mine, it is perfect for setting up for the next song12. My Precious-certainly a different sound but makes you feel like you're slowly walking in a cave.
Where in "No Name Face" "Everything" ended it with an emotional song(not complaining), The Beginning gives it a nice happy ending feel to the album. a nice acoustic version of it.It's really not a bad album and had there been different songs released as singles and had it had better promotion the album could have done well.
Sky Is Falling(acoustic). Stanley Climbfall-This song is best appreciated when in a quiet place in the dark.
How Long-this should've been in the original album and it could've easily replaced "Anchor", "Empty Space", "My Precious" or "Wash" for that matter easily. That or it could have been shorter, but even then it's still fairly good.
However somebody else may like the feeling it gives and it at least stands out in a way from the other songs.11. Out Of Breath-If you liked "Hanging By A Moment" then you'll like this song.
Still interesting and worth listening to.3. Also one of the more upbeat awake songs.6.

Awesome band, and great music. I got this CD for one song and fell in love with the entire album.
I've been spinning this one for about 2 weeks. Not a bad one in the bunch. I move it between cars it's so good. Quality songs. Excellent voice and production.
